SPARRC team consists of brilliant Sports Physicians, skilled Physiotherapists, experienced Sports Therapists, dedicated Administrators and team players from a whole lot of other disciplines. It is their hard-work and commitment to patient welfare that make SPARRC treatments both patient-friendly and effective.


 

 

S. Daniel Amalan – Chief Physiotherapist

S. Daniel Amalan has been an integral part of SPARRC from its very inception. Having joined Dr. Kannan Pugazhendi in YMCA after the completion of his Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy, he started out as a physiotherapist and lecturer in YMCA from 2006-2009. When the new centre in Anna Nagar was opened , he became the Centre Manager . However with his in-depth and vast understanding of the subjects, he was soon the Chief Physiotherapist of SPARRC.
When IISM was established in 2016, Daniel was Asst. Professor and has now gone on to become the Principal of the Institute handling both the UG and PG students. His willingness and enthusiasm in imparting his knowledge makes him valuable in the treatment of patients, on-field management and conducting classes for students.

Dr. Karthiyayni, Consultant – Child Development

Dr. Karthiyayni graduated from Madurai Medical College and has also done her DNB training in Paediatrics and Post graduation in Developmental Neurology. Having learnt yoga from Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram ,Dr.Karthiyayni is now also learning TaiChi, Eurythmy Bothner Gymnastics and Spatial Dynamics. She had served as Medical Officer in the Indian Navy before joining SPARRC. Her interest in SPARRC was brought about by the possibility of taking movement as a tool for healing. An environment that respected our ancient wisdom and correlated the same to scientific fact was the drawing factor for her to join SPARRC.

 

 

Dr. Aravind – Physician

Dr. Aravind is a Primary Care Physician, currently pursuing his fellowship in Fitness medicine and lifestyle diseases management. He graduated from Sree Balaji Medical college & Hospital in 2013 and has completed his Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine at the International Olympic committee (IOC) in 2019. As the primary-care Physician for SPARRC Sports Medicine Team, he is involved in diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating patients with different musculoskeletal disorders and sporting injuries. He is also a faculty at the Indian Institute of Sports Medicine. He is an avid fitness enthusiast and a football player, which inspired his foray into the field of Sports, Exercise and Fitness Medicine.

Fouzia Hamza – Business Development Manager & Fitness Advisor

A passionate fitness enthusiast, Fouzia is a fitness advisor helping clients achieve their individual fitness goals.  Adjudged best trainee in mountaineering from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali , a black belt in karate and a recreational badminton player, it is no surprise that fitness and training have been an integral part of her entire life.  As an accredited fitness advisor, Fouzia helps to evaluate clients’ present fitness level, fix goals and chalk out personalised plans to enhance their fitness levels. Fouzia takes home to her clients the concept of wholesome wellness through proper exercise, diet and  sleep, the philosophy of SPARRC.

Harini Murali – Health & Fitness Instructor

Harini Murali, BPT, is an old hand at SPARRC with 8 years experience. With a PG diploma in Biomechanics & Kinesiology in Sports and Fitness she has been also involved with enrolling and facilitating new students  for SPARRC’S  Health and Fitness Instructor( HFI) course. She finds personal satisfaction in providing students with a platform for a lucrative career option.

Dr Suman Kumar – Sports Physician 

Dr. Suman  Kumar, an ardent sports freak and fitness enthusiast, chose his career very purposefully. Having played in league cricket, he was always certain that he wanted a career related to sports. After his graduation from Novodoya Medical College, Raichur, Dr. Suman went on to do his MD Sports Medicine from Sri Ramchandra Medical College. He is the 4th person to have graduated in India in this very niche and specialized field. An integral part of SPARRC Sports Medicine Team as a consultant since the past four years, Dr. Suman has been involved in consultation, rehabilitation of patients and training athletes and providing onfield assistance during tournaments. He is also a faculty member of the Indian Institute of Sports Medicine, taking classes for graduate and postgraduate students.
